Happy New Year!  I am about to release 2 albums this year!  Lamplighter and The Memory of Water!

Lamplighter is my first solo album. My good friend and cellist Lori Goldston collaborated with me on 5 of the 10 cuts.  I am really looking forward to it's release March 30th at the Black Dog Arts Cafe.  The feeling I get from my album is an Americana kind of sound.  An infusion of styles of music, from Blues,  to Country, Bluegrass & Folk Rock. The album's name Lamplighter is inspired by a 1979 Lamplighter Mobile Home. Passed down through the family, it turned into my music studio. I had band practices there that were so loud that the cops were called on us a couple times. Within its walls, I wrote and recorded songs, and listened to old records with my friends.  Very soon the Lamplighter will be discarded & my families land will be sold. This album is honoring that time in my life when I found myself through my music, and giving gratitude for all the experiences that have led me up to this point.  My music is a healing force for me and it is a way for me to direct my thoughts into something beautiful and meaningful for myself. I have always written songs from my heart, hoping that the words and sounds would do the same for my listeners.

The Memory of Water is Strong Sun Moon's new release with Camelia Jade, Samantha Hiatt, Dawn Reardon, Gabe Herbert & Mike Antone.  We are scheduled to release our album at Jack Straw on January 27th!  There will be a live concert recording of the event and video will be able to be purchased!  "Strong Sun Moon is a 5-piece ensemble from Seattle, Washington, featuring a blend of styles influenced by Latin rhythms, Americana, Blues and World music. Sultry male and female vocals intertwine in soulful harmony with ecstatic solos to set your nervous system ablaze.  A genre all their own–a unique combination of complex ancient rhythms, piercing 21st century lyrics, and a blend of musical styles from three continents weave a kind of inclusive love that inspires a true sense of community. Instruments from South America, Cascadia, and Eastern Europe seamlessly form a compelling musical landscape and moving painting of verse highlighting visionary lyrics and social justice, with musical elements from the Latin dance scene, and eastern European percussion." - www.strongsunmoon.org
